Just a quick update –
This morning I sent the (second) October donation from Bogolan proceeds to Women for Women International. Here’s our tally so far:
- October 15, 2013 – $260 donated.
- November 1, 2013 – $101.38 donated.
- TOTAL to date – $361.38 donated to Women for Women International.
Again, my heartfelt thanks for everybody’s support.
In other news, Bogolan got a little bit of love from Karen over at Fringe Association, where she features a selection of delicious cowls for holiday knitting. Check it out!
In other other news, I’ve just now finished blocking the sample for my first sweater design. Only waiting on some early morning light and a few moments with my photographer/husband. We had a windy and rainy Halloween last night, so no trick-or-treaters (boo!), but that didn’t stop us from lighting up our jack-o-lanterns.
Happy Halloween (belated) / Samhain / Día De Los Muertos / All Saints’ Day!
I’m pleased to announce I’ll be teaching at the Haus of Yarn here in Nashville, a class on the Bogolan cowl!
I’m sure it’ll be quite awesome. There are some fiddly but useful techniques in Bogolan (provisional cast-on, 3-needle bind-off) that can really supplement your knitting prowess. Also – I can’t wait to see what colors and patterns other people choose!
We’ve scheduled two sessions. The Sunday session is already full, but there may be a few spaces left in the Thursday session, which will begin Nov. 14. You can contact the Haus for more info on signing up.
In other news, I’ve been working my wee little fingers off on something new.
I tried to design the exact pullover that I want, right at this moment, in a yarn that I am loving. I hope to share more pictures very soon.
It’s finally starting to get cold here in Tennessee. It just smells like cozy tea & sweater-knitting weather, all chill and dreary and mysterious. Time for all the spooks and ghosties to come out and play. I heard Bartleby, our local barred owl, hoo-ing to one last night…
Seriously, you guys are the best. I am amazed and so proud to announce the first of (hopefully) many Bogolan donations to Women for Women International. They had a dollar-for-dollar drive that ended last night, so I went ahead and sent what we had raised – which was $260. With the $ for $ matchup that should bring them a total of $520.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support! Hopefully the momentum won’t die down too much. I’ll continue to provide updates here on donations, probably about once a month.
P.S. I got myself a Twitter account, because that was the first thing I ever really wanted to Tweet! I’m no social media fiend, but if you feel like it, follow me on Twitter! Also, you can now Follow my blog with Bloglovin.
